At Swell Cats, we don’t teach everyone the same way & do not have a generic script for everyone. We specialise in beginner training and in tailoring our teaching based on our students. Extensive sand lesson exercises for various skills, personal surfing tips & resource material sharing, photo & video feedback sessions are some of our provisions for personalized surf training.

Beginner surfer
Got a couple of lessons but still can’t catch waves by yourself? Our instructor will give you paddle training, polish your pop-ups, perfect your surf stance & teach you basic wave reading tactics.
Beginner Intermediate
It's time to transverse left and right! You will be delving into wave reading, angling your take-off, catching the line and more stoke stuff.
Intermediate
Let’s start carving! You will learn to take complete control of your board and catch the high-line and low-line of the wave to surf on it.

5-day course
I am doing my 5-day course with Sathya and it’s going well. For someone who isn’t a great swimmer, it’s great to have a trainer like him who stays calm and helps you stay calm too. He gives very pointed feedback which is very helpful in improving. Surfing is a must-do in Goa and Swell Cats is the place to do it.
Fear of water
Water paranoia! I opted for a three-day surfing session with Sathya, I wish I can do more. Day 1 was sort of “me showing all strong emotions against water”, Oh! The best part was I told him about my fear of water. Sathya ensured that I get comfortable with water and stand up by the end of all three sessions. The sessions were great, but for me, the best part was “the try again Sasmita" enthu by Sathya and the fulfilment that I saw in Sathya’s eyes when I stood up, squatted to balance and went till the shore. I am for sure opting for more classes. The fear of water is still there, but I have chosen to walk with the fear. Amazing work Sathya and team!
Three-day course!
Did a three-day course with Sathya, had a great time and he made all the training sessions friendly and comfortable. Super fun and also flexible. Would definitely recommend Swell Cats surf club to anyone who wants to learn how to surf.

I had the most amazing time at the surf club. Sathya, the instructor was pretty knowledgeable and taught me according to my knowledge. The theory part of surfing, made me understand so well and helped me improve my mistakes throughout the sessions.Though I felt he could have paid a little more attention to my posture and helped me improve it. Overall it was a great first experience surfing and would definitely go back to learn more from him!!

Sathya gives his all while teaching the sport. He makes sure you get the finest details of surfing in the first few classes itself. Loved his excitement and dedication towards teaching. He boosted my confidence when I was scared of the waves and made sure I could ride them all. The patch of the sea near this school is absolutely calm with fewer swimmers which makes it easier for beginners. Everyone must experience this best surf school in Goa ✨
